- Two important religious rituals in Amish life are baptism and communion
- In Weddings they are often married on Tuesdays in between November and December. Women wear a blue linen dress and no make up. They also are against personal jewelry, so no wedding rings or bands are given
- Amish typically have worship services every second Sunday in private home.
- Members who break church rules may be called to confess before the congregation. Those who will not correct their behavior are excommunicated. Excommunicated members are shunned to shame.
- The Amish hold funeral services in the home rather than using the funeral parlor.
